Delta Tecnic will present in Wire 2022 the latest developments in cable masterbatches

Delta Tecnic, a leading company in the production of masterbatches, will attend Wire 2022, the International Wire and Cable Fair, which will take place in Düsselforf (Germany) from 20 to 24 June. The company will be present in Hall 09, Stand 9A22, to present the latest developments in the cable masterbatch sector.

Here are some of the innovations that Delta Tecnic will present at Wire 2022.

Delta Tecnic will show colour concentrates for fluoropolymers, which maintain excellent insulation properties and voltage behaviour in high temperature conditions. In addition, with excellent flame retardant properties, suitable for in the aviation, automotive and special wiring industries.

Fluoropolymers also allow cable dimensions to be reduced, which is useful for next-generation network communications (5G) and high-speed networks. New trends are in cable weight reduction in the face of increased connections driven by the Internet of Things (IoT).

Delta Tecnic has been studying the behaviour of pigments under the effects of weathering for more than 30 years, carrying out accelerated tests with the materials most commonly used by the cable industry. Thanks to this knowledge, the company develops masterbatches for use in photovoltaic panel installations. The cable tests carried out by its customers have been successfully passed with mechanical resistance values well above the 70% required by the standards.

Throughout its history, Delta Tecnic has manufactured conductive PVC compounds based on conductive carbon black technology. In the last decade, the company has introduced new raw materials such as Carbon Nanotubes, a new family of superconducting carbon blacks, as well as highly conductive graphenes.

There is also an increasing demand in the cable sector for EMI shielding behaviour, i.e. shielding that prevents the penetration of high-frequency radiation, an important factor in the aviation and automotive industry. Delta Tecnic will be showing this type of compounds at the fair, in which it achieves high DB insulation values that meet the requests of the manufacturers of this type of cables.

The growth of electric vehicles has raised interest in cables made from TPU, highlighting its properties in terms of hydrolysis resistance, UV resistance, low temperature resistance and long outdoor durability. The company will showcase its masterbatches made from this resin that offer optimal weathering results, with good performance under humid conditions, as well as low and high temperatures.

Of course, these masterbatches offer the market good non-fading results, as they can be matched both with specific colour and without colouring to achieve a matt effect.
